The Hallraisers - Roving Supper
Come Dine with Me! Roving Supper
The rain finally stopped, envelopes were dished out, maps were inspected and the wine flowed freely as Amberley’s Roving Supper fundraiser for the Church Hall got underway.
It was in essence a massive dinner party involving 55 Amberley residents, starting with a drinks reception in Oak Tree House generously hosted by David and Lillis Lyon and with successive courses being prepared and eaten in the home of a different host. The food was excellent – everyone had clearly gone the extra mile to prepare something special – and there was a real sense of community and camaraderie around the tables.
Thanks to the fantastic logistical skills of Mandy Fay and Dave & Lynne Curry, the evening went like clockwork – no-one got lost and everyone managed to arrive in high spirits back at the Church Hall, in time for dessert and the raffle draw.
Hazel Allinson summed it up perfectly when she said … ‘what a brilliant evening you gave us last night – from the prologue at Oak Tree House to the epilogue in the Hall, thank you. The organisation was superb, slick and absolutely faultless – but most of all fun! And somehow – despite the forecast – the event managed to stave off the rain! A big thank you also to all the hosts whose hospitality and delicious food we enjoyed along the way! It was certainly a wonderful way to fundraise for the hall and brilliant teamwork! Well done!’
Thank you to everyone for your support!
